We’ve sent you some artwork and you’ve found your way here. This is the first pod of the 6 Degrees Art Project and we hope that there will be many more.
There are 5 other people besides you who each now own a section of the same painting – we call this grouping a “pod”. Pod 1 is the first in a series of exciting experiments in connecting people online and offline through art and technology. I’ve known each of you personally in different ways (and some longer than others) but in any case, it is an honor and a pleasure to have you in this inaugural group.
Note that when I say “we” – that consists of myself, Amira, Roman, and Leo with whom I’ve included in the process of making this project happen. The 6 Degrees Art Project is a project developed under the umbrella of “The Proton Factory”, a concept that I’ve been sitting with for many years now – the sole purpose of which is to strive to build and do things which bring positive energy to the world whenever and however we can.
Help us now by registering your panel and confirming that you’ve received it. By registering, you will: “activate” your section so that we know you’ve gotten it; determine what personal/biographical information you want to share (if any) with the other pod members and the general public; and decide how you want to communicate with the other pod members.
You are not obligated to participate in any way shape or form with this project, but we do ask that you at least register the piece so that we know you’ve received it. You are not obligated to communicate with any of the other pod members, nor does the fact that we’ve grouped you together indicate that we believe that you will either get along or have a desire to communicate with each other. What this pod does and how it develops is not something that we desire to control. We do have a desire to create opportunities for people to connect with each other and in the case of this first pod each of you is pretty darn cool if you ask me.
Oh and before I forget – each of you has to register your panel before the entire painting becomes visible – at that point the completed painting will be displayed on the main web site as well as the general locations of the participants (we won’t use your names or your street addresses). As we intend to reach out to people from all walks of life – we are focused on maintaining anonymity and confidentiality. Each pod should be contained in it’s own protective shell.
